The all-electric SUV will launch in India as a CBU import by March 2024.
Skoda has introduced a new Laurin and Klement (L&K) variant of the all-electric Enyaq SUV and Enyaq Coupe globally. Skoda has also dropped the ‘iV’ suffix from the entire Enyaq line-up. The new L&K variant brings more power and range, along with cosmetic updates and a new software interface that will make it to other Skoda models in the future. The Enyaq L&K is positioned below the performance-focused vRS variant.

Skoda Enyaq Laurin and Klement powertrain
The rear-wheel drive Enyaq L&K 85 (previously known as Enyaq iV 80) now sees its power output bumped up to 282hp, up from 204hp. The range, too, has gone up from 510km to 570km. Meanwhile, the Enyaq iV 80x all-wheel drive, which made 265hp, gets a power bump to 282hp in the L&K 85x variant. Range for the all-wheel drive variant now stands at 550km on the WLTP cycle, which is a significant upgrade over the 460km offered by the 80x.

As for performance, the Enyaq L&K 85 sprints from 0-100kph in 6.7 seconds, shaving off a whole 2 seconds from the iV 80’s time. Meanwhile, the 85x does the 0-100kph sprint in 6.6 seconds, down from 6.9 seconds of the 80x. The top speed for both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions are now capped at 180kph, same as the vRS variant.
Both versions also continue with the 82kWh battery, and can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in under 30 mins using a DC fast charger.
Battery gets new pre-heating function
Skoda has also rolled out a software update that brings a new pre-heating function for the battery on L&K variants, and this will eventually be made available on all Enyaq variants from 2024 onwards.
The pre-heating function helps bring the battery to an optimal temperature before charging begins, and there are two modes to choose from. The first is a manual option which preheats the battery when the driver presses a button in the central infotainment display. In automatic mode, as the name suggests, the vehicle does it on its own on its way to a fast-charging station, based on data from the navigation system.

To mark out the L&K variant from others in the line-up, the Enyaq gets platinum grey inserts on the bumpers, rear diffuser and wing mirrors. Additionally, the window surrounds, roof rails and the frame for the grille are finished in chrome. As is typical to every L&K model, there are badges on the front fenders as well. The Enyaq L&K also gets LED matrix headlamps and 20-inch alloys as standards, with 21 inchers available as an option.

The dashboard design of the Enyaq L&K remains unchanged from the regular versions, but it gets new beige or an optional black upholstery. The L&K variants also exclusively get new heating and ventilation function for the front seats along with massage function, and a new aluminium finish for the pedals.

The infotainment system is the more significant update as it gets an improved user interface that will trickle down to other variants in the Enyaq line-up as well as other Skoda models. It gets new colours, revised graphics, an entire new menu structure, an all-new home screen, several configurable pages and shortcut buttons – all to improve the ease of use and functionality. The software update also brings new navigation maps to the Enyaq family and a simplified climate control menu.
Skoda Enyaq is India-bound
As we have previously reported, the Enyaq will launch in India by March 2024, although it remains to be seen which version makes it here. It will be brought in as a CBU as Skoda plans to use the Enyaq to test the market and then decide on its future EV line-up for the country.
